#FashionCrush: Tamara Al Gabbani ArabiAna A/W13 Collection

Good morning to you all!

I am so super exited to be back after a whole week of ‘digital detox’! I do have lots of fashion & beauty posts to catch up on but thought I’d share one of my fave local designers’ new A/W Collection today!

Since spending the Eid holidays over in Algeria with my in-laws, wearing mostly jalabiyas, I really got to appreciate how comfy, yet stylish these Arabic dresses are!

This is the one I wore for Eid, which is more of a ‘evening/party’ jalabiya. I got it from a tiny little shop in a very dodgy looking shopping center in Algiers but hey, I tell you, this is where you find THE BEST stuff! Morrocan kaftans, kanduras, babouches, and they are super mega cheap! Next time I travel back to Algiers, I will be sure to go with an (half) empty suitcase!!

For a bit more of a ‘luxe’ take on jalabiyas, Tamara Al Gabbani ArabiAna Collection really hits the mark when it comes to mixing modern designs & traditional pieces! Her new collection includes prints inspired from Islamic art and combining them with grecian geometric paterns.

Her pieces are made of the finest silk crepe and embedded with crystals. The finishing touch comes in the form of silk tassel belts. What I like most about Tamara’s pieces? They are affordable! From AED1,900….

I’ll be back soon with more #Glam updates ;)!

#RamadanFashion: Arabian Glam

For this week’s edition of my Ramadan Fashion post I thought to share a bit of a different style! I’ve gone Arabic on this one!

I am always on the lookout for new local designers, unique pieces and fabulous design and so when I first saw Tamara Al Gabbani‘s designs I knew I was onto something!

Her Ramadan Collection is just simply amazing with a selection of beautifully designed Kaftans so I decided to make dixit Kaftan the centre piece of this week’s outfit inspiration!

Her ArabiAna Collection 2013 gives a modern take on the traditional jalabiya. The prints are inspired from Islamic art and combined with modern patterns. All her Kaftans are made of real silk and embedded with crystals!

Tamara & I share the same philosophy in that luxury, style & elegance should be available to all women! They ALL deserve a little glamour which is why her Kaftans, available on request, retails at AED1,900! For more info check out her Website here.

Now if you wanna invest in more of a unique piece, you must check out the Ramadan collection at ValleyDez! They have some really funky designs… it’s all about traditional with a trendy twist!

I’ve selected a couple of pieces I thought you might like:

Kaftans @ValleyDez

Now these are obviously a bit more pricey BUT as I said before, sometimes you just gotta invest into an item that will last you forever! All you need is to accessorize differently and the possibilities are endless!

Check out their really cool website http://valleydezblog.com/! ValleyDez is available at Sunset Mall in Dubai but I’m sure if you ask super nicely they can sort you out with a delivery in the GCC countries…

The ultimate accessory this Ramadan!

Made famous by Sheikha Moza of Qatar, I am SO embracing the Turban this Summer!! It offers women a modest yet fashionable piece, both fabulously classic and quietly unconventional (‘quietly’ being the key word here!).

Here again I selected one of our local brands, Malaak. Designed by Huda Nuami, Malaak’s Turbans are super fun with lots of colours, textures, prints!

My 3 favourites collections are the Audrey, Python Pop & Print Pop!

Turbans - Audrey Collection

Turbans - Phyton Pop Collection

Turbans - Print Pop Collection

The new Spring/Summer 2013 collection will be soon available in several boutiques and department stores in Dubai: Symphony (Dubai Mall), Saks Fifth Avenue, USH Boutique, S*uce and the signature MALAAK Boutique in Jumeirah; in Doha at Impressions and in Jeddah at Cream.  Prices range from AED600 to AED1,400.

I am not off to stroll the malls and shall be back in a jiffy with more Ramadan Fashion picks… next time I’m going back to the #Haute-Street!

Until then, stay fabulous….
