Sarah Chapman Spot Stickers

#BeautyCrush: Spot on treatment from Sarah Chapman

Not the most glamorous of topics I grant you BUT one that is mega important never the less. We all get that nasty little zit that just shows up when we least expect it (and always at the worst time e.i: before a date) right?! Well, when that happens, DO NOT PANIC!

Reach out for these magic little Spot Stickers from Sarah Chapman. They’ll have you looking spot-free in no time.

All you need to do is clean off the area, pat dry, apply the sticker directly onto the affected area, go to sleep. Remove the sticker in the morning and you’re good to go! Should be gone in 1 or 2 days max!

Oh and they come with a lovely little pouch to keep them safe and to carry them around discreetly ;).

I ordered these from my favourite beauty website (net-a-porter.com).

You’re welcome!

#BeautyCrush: Current star products

For my first skincare post in what seems like ages, I thought I’d share my current favourite skincare bits. I’ve been using these for over 3 months now and absolutely love them!

Here we go:

Sephora Liquid Moisturizing Skin Concentrate – a toner/serum/concentrate all in one?! Love the concept. Applied with a cotton pad, easy peasy lemon squeazy. Moisturised and glowy looking skin in no time!

Sephora Radiance Cleansing Foam – Does a great job cleasing my skin without over drying it. You do need to use an oil-based cleanser to remove heavy make-up first though but as a morning cleanser, it’s a great product and a total bargain!

Le Jour De Chanel – I did splurge a bit on this one. I kind of liked the idea of treating my skin to something a little special. I bought it back in December, have used it every single morning since and I still have loads left! Besides, it does somehow make my skin look good! Hefty price but worth every $$$!!

The Body Shop Vitamine E Overniight Serum-in-Oil – Believe I’ve tried quite a few overnight oils, mainly because I’m lazy and really like the idea of applying just one product before hitting my pillow. And from all of those I’ve tried, this one is by far my favourite one! And it helps that it is one of the cheapest ;). Not too greasy, smells really good and I usually wake up to really really good skin. Like seriously. Try it!

Elizabeth Arden Visible Different Moiturising Eye Cream – I recently went through a bit of a phase where i wasn’t getting as much sleep as I would have liked which left me with nasty little lines under the eyes so I went on the internet, got googling and opted to try this one out! A fab product! Love love it. No more lines, no puffiness and no shadows. BAM!

Right, I hope I’ve inspired you to try one or a few of these amazing products. If I have, please do tell! Would love to hear your thoughts!

Shall we talk make-up next?! For real.

#BeautyCrush: Wake up to beautiful skin!

We all know our skin is at its most reception when it’s asleep. Well brands know it too and were quick to introduce products that promise smooth & even skin by the time you open your eyes the next day!

I, too, jumped on that bandwagon and decided to give moisturising overnight masks a test run. I picked 2 of them. The first one, the Origins Drink-Up Intensive Overnight Mask which seems to be the most blogged about and then, The FaceShop Seaweed Moisturizing Pack. Here are my thoughts! Read on:

Origins Drink-Up Intensive Overnight Mask, GBP23

As mentioned, the Origins mask is one of the most famous ones when it comes to overnight moisturising masks. I read tons of review on it and for the most part they were really good ones!  To have tried it over a few months, I can say that I really like it! It makes your skin sooo soft and radiant. It is however super rich and it does leave you with a shiny sticky face. It’s not so much of an issue though but just saying!

TheFaceShop Seaweed Moisturizing Pack

A recent discovery this mask is my favourite of the two. A light gel-like texture that does not leave me shining like a disco ball, it still deeply hydrates my skin and I usually wake up to evened, smoothed out tone! A cheaper alternative too!

Have you tried any overnight masks? Which ones! Tell me all :)

#TreatmentCrush: Guinot Hydrating Facial at Glow Spa & Salon

Another month, another treatment! This time I tried out the Guinot Hydradermie Hydration Treatment at Glow Spa & Salon in Jumeirah (Opposite Sunset Mall).

Being French I am of course familiar with Guinot‘s skincare products but gotta admit I had never tried their actual treatments so was glad to a. renew with the brand and b. try out one of their facial.

I can tell you, I was not disappointed!

_36A2014First of all, the spa. WOW! I loved the decor, loved the atmosphere and the team was super duper lovely & welcoming. It’s the little thing I know!!

My therapist, Ellen, took me on a tour of the facilities. They really have it all covered from the hair stations, nail room & treatment cabins, this is truly a one-stop shop for all your beauty requirements! You could actually spend a whole in there easy!!

The facial treatment itself was your usual (but super efficient) formula: double cleanse/exfoliation/extraction/cleanse/mask/conditioning.

But what I felt was different it the extraction… now I know this isn’t the most glamorous part of the treatment however I’m afraid to say it is the most efficient! And my therapist was amazing, removed all of those nasty little black-heard and my skin has now been super clear ever since!

The Guinot products are pretty amazing too. Smelled and felt great AND my skin didn’t turn all red for hours. Bonus!

For more info on the actual treatment and products used click here.

Make sure you visit Glow Salon & Spa, I promise you a super warm and relaxed environment and of course, all of your beauty needs cared for under one single roof!!

#BeautyCrush: The Murad Skincare Regimen

Murad skincare products were developed by renowned dermatologist, Dr Howard Murad and as such inspired by his many years of experience and research treating common skin concerns. These are seriously innovative and high-performing products packaged into a 3-step regimen in a variety of ranges designed to fit and treat the most common skin types/issues.

My personal experience with Murad was fairly limited. I did try out their Acne & Wrinkle Reducer after reading a few good reviews. It turned out however to be way too strong for my skin and I had to stop using it after a few days. It doesn’t mean it wasn’t a great product though. Just one to be reserved for younger/teen skin…

When I was offered the opportunity to try out a more personalised and appropriate regimen, I jumped at the chance of course!

See below the products I tried and my thoughts on them.

Murad Essential-C Cleanser

This gel-like cleanser from Murad’s Environment Shield Range is packed full of anti-oxydants and Vitamin C which help restore the skin’s evenness, clarity, texture and radiance. A simple yet lovely foaming cleanser which gives you that fruity boost in the morning! I’ve now been using it for 3 weeks as my morning cleanser and my skin seem to really be liking the Vitamin-C kick 😉

Murad Hydrating Toner

I’ve only been using the Murad Hydrating Toner for a couple of weeks and only in the mornings as I am very very loyal to my Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner which I use in the evenings and which seems to be the ONLY toner able to keep any breakouts at bay…. Not saying it isn’t a lovely toner but I don’t think I’ve used it for long enough to tell you whether or not it is keeping its promises of boosted elasticity and smoothed fine lines… will report back.

Murad Advanced Active Radiance Serum

Said to improve brightness, clarity & radiance within the 1st week of use. Well, since I’ve now been applying it every morning for a couple of weeks, I do have to admit to my skin looking a little more ‘glowy’ and feeling more energised! I am always a bit conscious when using a new serum as my skin does not like changes but, on this occasion, I’ve gotta say that it reacted pretty well too it! Now this serum is a bit of a pricey one (AED499 to be exact) so those on a budget might wanna look for a more budget-friendly option (The Body Shop Vitamin C Booster is a great one!). If money is no object and you feel your skin could do with a bit more ‘life’ into it, go for it! Bonus points for the orangy smell!

Murad Renewing Eye Cream

I have mixed feelings about the Renewing Eye Cream. It’s an OK product I guess in the sense that it does give you that moisturised feel but, it didn’t quite measure up to my usual Caudalie Premier Cru The Eye Cream when it comes to smoothing out those little lines and evening out any darkness under the eyes. I do use it but overnight as to make the most of the nourishing effect but on this occasion, I would have to say that I would not purchase. It is quite pricey too (AED399) so….

Well, I hope the above will be helpful if you were thinking of investing in any of these Murad products. Of course, bare in mind these are only my personal views and that everyone reacts differently to any skincare products.

If you so happen try any of these out, I’d love to hear your thoughts :)
