#BeautyCrush: Skin Care by Diptyque

No this isn’t a typo. Yes I do really mean Diptyque. The brand famously known for their uber cool candles is now offering a range of skin care products and of course, yours truly had to try them!!

First, can we just take a moment to look at the packaging. I mean… hello?! So effortless chic. So French (and I’m not saying that cos I’m French!). Just lovely.

Then let’s move on to what’s inside the pretty tubes & jars.

First up is the Radiance Boosting Powder.

Role: Cleanses and clarifies skin for greater radiance.

It comes as a finely milled powered which you pour into your hands and lather up using the supplied little foam ball previously dampened. You then clean your face with the foam, rinse off and voila! The texture is very similar to the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant .

I’ve used it for a couple of weeks now and would say it’s a pretty nice & gentle cleanser, best kept for a morning cleanse and not heavy-duty enough for make-up/sun screen removal. Still, my skin does feel purified and not dry at all which is a good thing. Nothing ground breaking either and it’s a pretty expensive product at $58 so not sure I would re-purchase.

Second, I tried out the Multi-Use Exfoliating Scrub.

Now this one I really liked! A pure-white creamy clay which can be used in 2 ways! You can use it as a scrub and work it over your skin to remove dead skin cells gently OR you can use it as a deep cleansing mask by letting it rest on your skin for 10 minutes.

Rinse it off and say hello to a brighter, more radiant skin! I loved it from the first time I used it!! This one is $65 which I know is a little on the pricey side but it’s well worth the investment and the jar will last you a while.

You can purchase the full range of skin care products from the Diptyque store at The Dubai Mall.

Have you tried any of the Diptyque Skin Care products? Do you recommend them? Would love to explore the brand a bit more….

Origins Drink Up Mask

#ProductCrush: Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask

Hello hello!

So on the menu today, I thought I would serve a bit of a product review. Just like that! I don’t do many of these and should really because when you come across a product that you absolutely adore, you should share with the world don’t you think?

Well this one certainly fits the bill!

As you can imagine, I read A LOT of beauty products reviews and occasionally allow myself to be tempted into trying some based on the amazing reviews they receive from bloggers, editors etc… The Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask was one of them.

I had never tried anything from Origins but boy am I am glad I did!

This stuff is absolutely amazing! My skin is very dehydrated which is a bit of a nightmare because if I use a moisturiser that’s too rich it gets oily and breaks out. I then have to ‘treat’ it which dries the skin out… a never ending cycle! That was until I tried this mask…

You basically apply it over your face 2 or 3 times a week but unlike any other face masks, you leave it on ALL night! You can pat the excess with a tissue but the idea is that your skin will drink up the mask and you will wake up to beautifully hydrated skin.

Which you will! I have used it for a couple of weeks and just LOVE LOVE LOVE the way my skin feels AND looks when I wake up.

An amazing amazing product which I highly recommend!

One of my favourite blogger uses is when she flies long haul to keep her skin fed… since the texture is clear, no one will suspect you’re wearing face mask… I shall try this out soon! 😉

#WishCrush: The 2014 Beauty Bucket List

2014 Beauty Bucket List

Another one of my New Year’s Resolutions is to try more (meaning ‘even more than I already do’) beauty & make-up products, but really good ones!

So after spending a whole weekend reading through some of my favourite bloggers’ favourite products of 2013 posts, here is MY 2014 Beauty Bucket List:

1. Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation (here) – I’ve never tried anything from Perricone and I like the idea of a barely there foundation… it promises the coverage and flawless tone without the heavy foundation feel (and look)… let’s see…

2. Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre (here) – I hear this cream truly is a hidden gem and one of the best kept secrets among models & celebs alike! If it is good enough for Cara….

3. Caudalie Vinexpert Radian Day Cream SPF15 (here) – Another product I really want to try out. Just because I LOVE the Caudalie Beauty Elixir so much and it is a brand I want to explore a bit more… plus it’s French so it must be good. Just saying….

4. Nars Blush in Coeur Battant (here) – Have you seen this colour?? One of my favourite beauty bloggers uses it all the time and her skin tone is fairly similar to mine so thought I’d give it a go. I’ve actually just received it from Selfridges.com and will defo wear it tomorrow! If you see me looking all glowy and rosy-cheeked, you’ll know why…

5. Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder in Candlelight (here) – The website description goes: “A gorgeous, elegant shimmer powder for an angelic glow.” Do I need to say more?

6. Top Shop Make-Up (here) – All these years I’ve lived in the UK and it never occurred to me to try  Top Shop’s make-up! Now that I don’t live in the UK, that’s all the beauty bloggers can talk about! Timing poeple!! Again, another little online haul here…

7. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light (here) – The mother of all finishing/setting/illuminating powders. ALL the bloggers rave about this one and so really, I just HAVE to try it… might treat myself to a little SpaceNK order soon…

8. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (here) – Another bloggers’ favourite. I do want to invest in a good foundation and will give this one a go since it seems everyone who tries it just falls in love with it…  A little trip to Harvey Nichols is in order.

9. Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturiser (here) – If you’ve not heard about the LM Tinted Moisturiser, then you’ve either been stuck on a desert island for the past year or in prison! Again, this is a beauty bloggers’ favourite and one moisturiser they reckon we should ALL have in our bathrooms. I shall therefore oblige!

I do realise this is quite an extensive (and expensive!) list BUT I do have a whole year to tick these off. I will of course be sure to blog about all of these products and let you know what I thought of them so you in turn can add (or remove) them from your bucket list!
