#NailCrush: I nailed it at Nbar Ibn Battuta!

If you follow me on Instagram you will probably have noticed I do tend to take pictures of my nails quite a lot! I do love nails… I just think polished, well-groomed, coloured nails are the epitome of femininity! And seeing by the number of nail salons around Dubai I’m not the only one!

IMG_3881 For me it’s important to find a place where I feel relaxed and confortable and where my nails are looked after in an impeccable manner. Every time. I do like consistency so… I finally found a place where the quality is consistent, the ambiance is fun, the choice of polishes and colours extensive and that place is the Nbar at my local mall, Ibn Battuta!

After a 2-week long holiday in France, by -5C, my hands and nails were looking worse for wear so off I went hoping the girls at Nbar could somehow salvage my dry, brittled nails.

I decided to try out their Shellac Manicure, said to not be as damaging as Gelish to the nail and to still last for a couple of weeks.

The colour selection is pretty amazing and it did take me a few minutes to make my mind up! They also have this super cute wall of inspiration with lots of different nail art designs… I’ll have to try of these next time for sure 😉

In the end I picked up a lovely dark browny plum colour which I love and thought would be perfect for the winter season!

The whole process took about 1hr and I left with hands & nails looking FAB! The girls were super nice and I had a lot of fun.

Will defo return and can really vouch for this place!

#SalonCrush: Raffine at Sofitel The Palm Jumeirah

You all know how much I looooove my pampering treats right? So whenever I get the chance to do just that I usually grab it with both manicured hands!

I was recently invited to check out Raffine Salon at Sofitel The Palm Jumeirah and try out their mani-pedi service as well as their blow-dry so off I went!

When I walked in, I was greeted by a lovely hostess who introduced me to the girls who’ll be looking after me. All were super welcoming, they offered me a coffee and sat me in the most comfy mani-pedi chair ever!

They use the amazing OPI and CND Vynilux polishes which is great. Both Liudmila and Aladisa got to work and moments later my nails were looking fabulous! Check.

I moved on to a full leg wax (as an additional paid for treatment) which was also performed by the lovely Aladisa. The wax they use is pretty good too and didn’t hurt as much as my usual one… re- check.

Finally, I moved on to Elena’s station for a wash and blow-dry. I opted for some bouncy curls and was left with voluminous, bouncy, Hollywood-like hair! She is a master at curling hair! And god knows mine are a nightmare to work with so well done Elena!!

All in all I had a fantastic time. Left feeling (and looking) a million box! The only downer was the price of the leg wax. At AED385 (yes you read that right) it probably is and will the most I ever ever pay for a wax in my whole life! When I asked for it, I didn’t think to double check what the price would be as stupidly assumed it would be more than my usual AED65 one but would never have thought it would cost that much! Dah! Lesson learned…

I would certainly recommend this salon to whomever has a bit more $$ to splurge on luxurious treatments in 5 star surroundings. I would however be careful for those on a budget and this one certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted. Check out their price list below:

I don’t know that I will be returning as, sadly, I don’t think my wallet could take another visit, but must admit the service was stellar!

The salon is open 7 days a week from 10am-8pm. To book an appointment call 044556636. You can also check them out on Facebook –  www.facebook.com/raffinebeautydubai.

Enjoy!
