#BeautyCrush: WOMF #3

Hope y’all had an excellent weekend! Mine just flew by really… doesn’t it always! Still, I found time to blog about my current skin care routine and here are the products I’ve been using over the past few weeks including a couple of newbies!

Eau Precieuse

Now this is one of those cult beauty products which I remember my grand-mother AND my mother using! The Eau Precieuse (Precious Water in English) was in fact created in France back in 1890! This miscellar water is known to fight imperfections & black heads. During my recent holidays at home, I was chatting all things beauty (of course) with my mates and one of them mentioned she was not only still using Eau Precieuse but loving it too. She has fantastic skin so it must work!!

Off I went to my local pharmacy & picked one up. I’ve been using all over my face to remove my make-up & as a pre-wash in the morning and so far, not complaining!

Neutrogena Deep Clean cleansing gel

Yes, I have gone back to my 1st love when it comes to cleanser and been again using my favorite one EVER! I’ve blogged about this amazing face wash a few times already but got to admit it is still the best at removing my make-up and preparing my skin for the rest of my routine.

L’Oreal Eclat Sublime Tonique Clarifiant

I mentioned this toner in one of my ‘French Fancies Beauty Haul‘ posts back from when I was on holidays. I’ve actually been using it for a few weeks now and really like it! It is very fresh and just wakes your skin up in the morning. It contains Vitamin C for an added ‘glowy‘ effect. Not sure you can get this one in the UAE just yet but if you are travelling to Europe I strongly recommend you pick up a bottle!

L’Oreal Sublimist Serum

And another one of my ‘French Fancies‘! I picked up this serum from the new L’Oreal Sublimist range and been using it every morning since then. It is said to give you that ‘perfect skin’ effect and although I can’t see any major difference, I do find it adds a little more ‘glow’ to it if that makes sense? It acts a bit as a primer and smooth out any fine lines or blemishes which then allows my BB cream to just glide onto my skin. Will keep on using it for the next few weeks and report back on any improvements!

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen SPF 30

Nothing new here. I am still using AND loving my good old Neutrogena sunscreen. I did try the Clinique one for a few days but really, this one is my favorite one. I just love the fact that the texture is so light and non-greasy and it’s an absolute bargain.

L’Occitane Sublime Beauty Cream

I’ve talked about this one too in the past but really been using it on a regular basis since I went on holidays. Must say, of all the BB creams I have tried, this one is probably my favorite one. The texture is light & sheer but provide excellent coverage. The colour (medium) is just a superb match to my skin tone.

Dermalogica Ultrasmoothing Eye Serum

OK, I am being a little ‘unfaithful’ to my beloved Herbline Essentials Aloe Vera & Honey Under Eye Gel BUT, I do have to try different things don’t I?! I just recently discovered the Dermalogica Ultrasmoothing Eye Serum and been using it for over 2 weeks now. The oil-like texture is pretty amazing actually! It just melts into your under eye skin and kind of smooth it out… I’ve gotta say it is a pretty damn good product! It doesn’t have the ‘refreshing effect’ the Herbline Essentials gel gives but it seems to be excellent at filling up those little lines (damn these!) and makes a perfect primer for your concealer… I can’t really tell which one I prefer, I like them both and will probably use the Herbline Essentials gel in the morning and use the Dermalogica in the evening as it feels a little more ‘nourishing’.

Lush Santa’s Lip Scrub

I started using Lush’s lip scrubs a couple of months ago and absolutely adore the Pop Corn one. I tried the Santa’s Lip Scrub the other day and loved it too! You just rub it onto your lips, rinse it off and your pout is baby-soft & rid of any dry skin… amazing!

Well there you have it, this month’s low down on my skin care routine. I shall be back soon with some hair products I’ve recently been using so watch this space!

#AugustMakeUpCrush (the French Edit): Dans ma trousse #Aout13

Glamistas Bonsoir,

#Make-UpCrush: Drugstore Make-Up Look

Greetings from a grey & rainy day in France!

Since I am kind of stuck at home, I thought I would try something a little different. I had a look through my make-up stash and decided to work on a ‘drugstore natural day-time’ look!

Here is what I used:

L’Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream – I picked this one up in my local supermarket having heard LOADS of positive comments. The coverage is fairly good, the colour seem to work by adapting to your natural skin tone… It does even out any redness or blemishes but the coverage is super light so would keep it for a good skin-day!

Bourjois Paris Concealer Stick in 73-Golden Beige – I don’t really use Concealer but on those days when I haven’t slept much and need a little brightening under the eye area, I use this one in a shade lighter than my natural skin colour. I am no concealer expert but this one seem to hold a pretty good coverage. It doesn’t look cakey or anything… I apply it with a concealer brush and good to go in seconds.

L’Oreal Nude Magique BB Blush – Yes, they do have BB Blushes! I never knew either and so I decided to try! This one came in a ‘Universal Rosy Tint’ which again, adapts to your natural skin tone. It looked a little scary at first as it goes on very very pink but after blending it out with my fingers it left a very subbtle ‘flushed’ colour which looks very natural.

Maybelline New York Eyestudio Intense Chic Palette– I love a smokey eye me! So I picked up this very cute palette which include 4 ‘Vivids Plums’ shades. I followed the tutorial at the back of it to create a very chic eye look. The colour pigments aren’t the greatest but it still makes for a good drugstore option. I had to use my own Sephora Pro brushes though as I found the ones included in the kit very hard to manipulate…

Bourjois Paris Fan-Tastic Volume in 21-Fan-tastic Black – Y’all know I am a massive voluminous lashes person and so always on the look out for the next best mascara! I had very high hopes when I picked this one up… I was however a little disappointed and didn’t really get the volume I was hoping for until after I applied 3 coats. The fan-like brush is quite easy to use though and the result is very natural without any clumps.

Yves Rocher Colour nature 3 in 1 Eye Pencil in 01-Brun – to add a bit more ‘drama’ to my eye look, I ran a very subblte brown eye pencil down my water-line and used this one which I’ve now had for about a year!

So, the result is again, a very natural, fresh day-time look! Check out these detailed pics below:

#BeautyCrush: French Fancies Haul, part 1

Hey you guys!

First off, let me apologise for the silent treatment. As you all know I’ve been on holidays and will be until the 27th August.

It is so nice to be home with my family and friends, I’ve been having a real blast! But the highlight of this week has to be my trip to the nearest big shopping centre, beauty shopping!!

I managed to stock up on all sort of different bits & pieces I can never find in the UAE and so couldn’t wait to share these with you lot!

So here is what I got so far!

DSC00195 - Copy

Skin Care:

Caudalie ‘Eau de Beaute‘ (EUR9.50) which you spritz all over your face at any time of the day for an instant refreshed & beautiful glow

L’Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream (EUR14.68) – in the universal shade. This one is said to correct skin tone to give you a healthy looking canvas that is radiant and lasts for 24hrs! Will try it out today!

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse (EUR18.90) – I discovered this one in my last GlamBox and absolutely love it! It smells amazing, applies nicely on the skin without leaving a greasy film over it and just looks very glam!! You can use it to nourish your hair too!

Garnier Body ‘Huile Beaute Absolue’ (EUR7.98) – as you can probably tell, I really am into body oils at the mo! I just find them so easy to use and in this weather my skin tends to dry out a little so these are perfect to keep it super hydrated. I haven’t tried this one so will have to come to you on whether it beats the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse or not!

Hair Care:

L’Oreal EverRiche Shampoo (EUD7.98) – without sulfates this shampoo will nourish your (or my) keratin/botox treated hair.

L’Oreal EverLiss Conditionner (EUR7.58) – this conditionner will help tame any frizzy hair, perfect for this hot & humid weather

KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow (EUR4.90). A #bblogger favorite, these are super pigmented yet easy to apply over your eye-lid. You just need to blend it out with your fingers for a super long lasting shimmery look!

I got the share 05 & 07!

L’Oreal Nude Magique BB Blush (EUR10.61), Another one of my fave bloggers recommendation! The tint adapts to your own skin tone so when applied on your cheek bone, the transparent gel transforms into this delicious pink glow that lasts for hours!

Maybelline New York Color Tattoo (EUR9.70). Haven’t tried this one out yet but the colour ’35- on and on bronze’ looks gorgeous for a summer evening look! These are said to last up to 24hrs so will have to test it out over the weekend!

Right, so that was Part 1 of my French Fancies Haul. I’ll be back with more beauty finds next week!

Any questions or suggestions as to which products I should look out for, let me know!

Until then…

#RamadanBeautyCrush: Keep your glow on!

This post can be viewed in Arabic on Arabia.com! Click here to check it out :)

Happy Wesnesday Glamistas!

So today I thought I’d talk about another obsession of mine (I have so many I could write a book!); Make-Up! I mean I really am obsessed… like I have tons of make up at home which I just love to play with! 2 of my favorite brands are Sephora and Bourjois which I use on a daily basis. Their products are seriously just as good and pigmented as luxury ones and just cost a fraction of price!

Now, during Ramadan, we will all be toning it all down a notch or 3 BUT , with some very simply tips and by using some amazing products you’ll still look good, glowy without looking ‘made-up’.

Here is my make-up routine broken down in 3 steps:

From lack of hydration & food, I can look fairly pale throughout the day and so on top of my usual moisturiser + SPF combo, I use the new Sephora Color Adapt Bronzer all over my face with a big brush, to warm my complexion up! This one is mat and doesn’t add any shimmery bits ( really don’t like these during the day!) and so gives you a very natural yet subtle glow.

Color Adapt bronzer_Open

If I have a bit more time in the morning, I would just apply my favourite foundation from my favourite drugstore make-up brand of all times!! The Healthy Mix Foundation by Bourjois.

With a light/medium coverage it just smoothes away all those little lines & imperfections leaving you with a dewy polished canvas! I SUPER like!

If you wanna add a little ‘touch of radiance to finish off your look, just a sweep some of the Bourjois  Blush in ‘Rose D’Or’ over your cheek bones!

The keyword here is again, ‘subtle’!  During the Holy Month, you don’t wanna sport any look that’s dramatic so forgo smokey eye, cat’s liner etc… keep it nice, simply & natural.

A simple brush stroke over the eyelid using a very fresh colour such as the new Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow which will last you a whole day, even in this heat!

Benefit EyeCreamShadow

My fave shades are Birthday SuitMy  2 Cents & RSVP (check out Benefit’s website for more details). These retail AED91 in Sephora. A little pricey BUT they’ll last you forever.

My favourite mascara at the moment is the L’Oreal Extra-Volume Collagen Waterproof. Now I’ve tried hundreds of mascaras, expensive ones, cheap ones and really this one has to be THE best I’ve ever tried! I wear the waterproof version to avoid any smudging during the hot Summer months.

L'Oreal Mascara

I still use my Figs & Rouge Lip Balm which I talked about in my previous post but if I am going out for Iftar or Sohour I’ll add a pop of colours using the new Sephora Lip Stain Ink from their newest Bling Bling Collection. I have all 3 colours and really love them :)! I’ve done a full review of Sephora’s latest Summer make-up so be sure to check it here!

 Sephora Lip Stain

I also SUPER love the new Bourjois Colour Boost glossy sticks!

And if you’re going out in the evening, turn your daytime look into an evening one by just adding a little eyeliner and you’re good to go! (Read my review on the best one ever created here)!

Stay fabulous until my next  Ramadan Beauty post!!
