Hello hello! I hope you’ve all enjoyed the lovely weekend? I kind of slept for most of it but did manage to catch up on blog posts…
First up this week is my latest Spa Treatment Crush. You know me, I am always on the lookout for the next treatment which will leave my skin feeling soft, smooth & looking polished!
I think I may just have found THE best one so far! Which one? Well, read on to find out more 😉
Although I’ve lived in the Middle East for 3 1/2 years, I never ever tried a Turkish Hamman! So when the chance presented itself I jumped on the wagon and booked myself in for a traditional Turkisk Hamman at the Turkuaz House Ladies Salon & Spa on Jumeirah Beach Road.
Upon arriving I was greeted by the lovely Spa Manager, Jelena Khawam in person who led me to the most beautifully appointed waiting room!
Had to fill up the usual paperwork, which took 2 minutes and was then introduced to my therapist, Hawa!
Hawa took me upstairs into the VIP Treatment Room to proceed with the treatment…. at that point I wasn’t quite sure what to expect! She took me inside the marbled hammam where lied down whilst she poured warm water all over my body. I then relaxed for a good 10 minutes in the warm and tranquil room! This step is said to restore good health through the elimination of toxins by regular sweating, one of the best therapies for fighting the stress & tension… I certainly felt a lot more ‘zen’!
And then comes the ‘exfoliation’! Armed with a Kese (exfoliation glove) my skin was scrubbed and rid of all dead cells… the glove is really soft but you can actually see your dry skin falling off (a little yeuk!) so you know it is effective!
Once rinsed, Hawa practiced a Köpuk, a traditional body washing technique with a soap that forms the most amazing foam! This is the part I enjoyed most actually! And after massaging me back to my tension-free self, she then rinsed it all off, washed my hair with a very soft shampoo, conditioned it and we were good to go!
The process took about 1h and when ‘practiced’ regularly (Hawa recommended one treatment every couple of weeks) the Hammam enhances circulation and oxygenates the cells, tissues & organs, it also helps improve blood flow, hydrates dry skin and calm muscular tensions. What’s more? It burns about 300 calories per session!
A week later and my skin still feels very smooth and just more hydrated! I really had an amazing experience, Hawa was just fantastic and so adorable! I will definitely return very soon
The whole treatment usually costs AED272 however this month, Turkuaz is offering an amazing offer for AED115 for the 60 mins Hammam + 30% on all Oxygen facials!!

Have you tried any of Turkuaz House treatments? What did you think?
