#PerfumeCrushes: The Summer Fragrances Edit

Summer Fragrance Edit

And so the countdown to Summer has officially begun! Literally…. crossing days on my desk calendar et al! I’m now on D-95… seems like a far away ahead BUT that’s exactly 3 months. And these 3 months are going to be HECTIC ones.

For one, I need to try & get into some sort of shape, then I need to plan out all of my outfits (I’m limited to 23kgs of luggage so gotta make tough decisions!), I’ll also be planning out my ‘Holidays make-up kit’, my ‘Skincare kit’ and then of course my ‘Perfumes selection’… very important these… each Summer has it’s own special scent or combination of!

So, which perfumes have made the cut this Summer? 3 actually. 1 for daytime, 1 for evening and then another one for special occasions… yes I do realise this all sound a bit extreme but that’s the way I roll!

Daytime gorgeousness: Elie Saab L’Eau Couture

Evening sultriness: Benefit Cosmetics Under My Spell Noelle

Unforgettable scent: Chanel Coco Noir

Obviously I do own quite a few more which I wear on a regular basis and I might do a little post on my current perfume collection if you’re interested! Just let me know in the comments :)

#EventCrush(es): ‘Tis the season to celebrate all things fashion & beauty!

Hope you gals are well and survived the horrendous sandstorm last night?!

Still, it’ll take more than a sandstorm to ruin my excitement! The fashion & beauty launches season is now in full swing and as one of the newbies on the blogging block it is MY very 1st Fall/Winter one!

I was very lucky indeed to have gotten invited to a fair few events over the next few weeks so can I take this opportunity to thank my fellow bloggers, the brands & their teams, the fab PR people working in the industry &  all, for welcoming me into this magical world!

SO, here are the events I am the most looking forward to:

Herbline Essentials Re-Launch – Because it is one of my favourite brands and I can’t wait to discover their new branding and product releases!

New Look Autumn/Winter 13 Collection Launch – do I really need to remind everyone that half of my wardrobe comes from there?! I mean, I should really be seating front row I spend so much money in there!

NL-Invite English_Digital

The Dubai Mall Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience Bloggers Event – I remember seeing some tweets on the subject and thinking ‘Oh I wish I was invited to that?!’ and so I was super duper pleased when I got the e-vite!!

CD5865E7-8CBF-4109-B684-C9293FEAC9FD (1)

Dermalogica UltraSmoothing Eye Serum Launch – VIP Bloggers Event – I’m a Dermalogica fan me AND it didn’t go unnoticed to their local distributors I guess… 😉

The biggest fashion event of all: Dubai Fashion Forward season 2! – I did attend season 1 but because it was my first time I don’t think I really made the most of it and it felt during weekdays which means I missed most of the shows.

This time though, it falls over the Eid weekend which means 4 days of just PURE fashion bliss!! Just gotta figure out what to wear but that’s another matter…

Of course there will be other events between now & the end of the year and I will be sure to attend as many as I can and report back on the blog!

Ah and before I forget, I wanted to let you all know that I am in the process of getting a new smartphone which will allow me to (finally!) start being active on Instagram so stay tuned for more updates!!

#BeautyCrush: Bourjois So Laque Nail Polishes

Show me your nails and I’ll tell you who you are. Quite a bold statement isn’t it? Well, it’s totally true! You can tell a lot about a gal by just looking at her hands, more specifically her nails!

Well maintained, manicured nails are elegant, chic and show that one cares about their appearance. Your nails can transform a look completely and have become an actual ‘accessory’, an extension of our own personal style. Some like them natural, others prefer bold flashy colours.

I personally am addicted to getting my nails done religiously every 3 weeks. I usually opt for the long-lasting, low maintenance gel manicure, at least on my hands.

For feet, I do like to change colours according to what I’m wearing so I usually do it at home.   I’ve tried many different polishes over the years. Expensive ones, cheaper ones… any major brands you can think of until I tried the Bourjois So Laque polishes

! I had read an excellent review on one of the many blogs & sites I follow and thought I’d give it a go & I did AND I felt in love!! These polishes are just simply the most resistant I have tried. Says they last for 10 days on the bottle and I have had my pedi on for about 2 weeks now. And I only applied 2 coats! They even resisted through a couple of soccer training sessions!

These HAVE to be the best ‘bargain beauty’ buy I’ve ever found!! At AED39 each, they’re a steal! I actually bought all 8 shades!

Check out Bourjois’ Facebook page for easy, do-it-yourself nail art inspirations! Thought this one was quite cute!

I’ve been sharing these on my Page too so don’t forget to check it out AND like it!!

#Blogger’sCrush: Fashion & Beauty blogroll

Hey Glam Gals!

A few of you have asked me which blogs do I personally follow and so I thought to post out a list of my top 10 Fashion & Beauty Blogs.

I love browsing through them! I also read a lot of fashion/beauty websites as well as magazines such Glamour, Harpers Bazaar etc…

When I see what my fellow #BBloggers come up with, it gives me so much inspiration and motivates me to work harder at mine (a lot of evenings on the laptop involved!) which isn’t always easy but it certainly gives me that buzz!

Check’em out and let which ones you like! Do also share your favorites blogs or e-zines!

#Make-Up Crush: Where have you been all my life!

I was very lucky to be offered to try the new POREfessional by Benefit Cosmetics over the weekend and OH MY GOD, it was a revelation! Where the hell has this one been all of my life!!

I have suffered from shiny T-zone for as long as I can remember and believe you me, I have tried every single primer & mattifier you can think of!

This one however is absolutely AMAZING! It quickly minimizes the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin finish! Because it is translucent, its oil-free formula complements all skin tones and helps your makeup stay put. Best of all, it contains a Vitamin E derivative, known to protect skin from free radicals.

How to apply?!

To use under makeup: Apply to clean, lightly moisturized skin. Pat on problem areas & blend with fingertips. Wait a few seconds before applying the rest of your make-up.

To use over makeup
: Pat on lightly over makeup whenever the ‘Shine’ shows up & blend. I say, this one should be in every glam girls’ bags this Summer!

The POREfessional retails at AED120 in Sephora. While you’re at it, don’t forget to pick up one of their new Loyalty Cards!
