What an exciting few weeks it has been what with all the designers (local & international, couture & high-street) launching their Autumn/Winter Collections!
Although I wasn’t quite invited to attend London or Paris Fashion Week (one day my darlings, one day!), I still was privileged enough to sit front row at a few Fashion shows here in Dubai!
One I particularly enjoyed is the Baruni Brand Fashion Show. For one, Fadwa Baruni’s S/S13 show as the very first catwalk event I attended when I first started blogging and so the brand is very close to my heart. But I also genuinely LOVE her designs!
The A/W13 Collection is just so feminine, glamorous, flirty but also has a hint of middle eastern flavour and I just really like that she manages to mix both modern silhouettes with her fascinating North African heritage (Fadwa is originally from Libya).
Her latest designs boldly display sophistication, clean lines & sharp tailoring.
The theme is “A New Independence”. The collection is inspired and dedicated to those who took part in the Arab Spring revolution. It also celebrates the fact that Fadwa is one of the first Libyan designers to enter the fashion scene in the UAE and through this collection she intends to capture that distinct individuality and share it with those wearing the designs.
Check out some of the looks showcased at the show:
I also “instagrammed” my favourite pieces so do check out my Instagram account! All of these can be purchased from Rivaage Boutique which is located in The Sunset Mall, Salam Studios and stores in Mirdif City Centre, Bebe e Mio in Jumeirah Beach Road and Fifty One East Boutique in Qatar.

I am actually eyeing up the dress n28 to wear at the upcoming MEPRA Awards gala which I’ll be hosting on 27th November, so stay tuned for that outfit post ;)!
