M&S Spring 2014 collection (1)

#FashionCrush: Marks & Spencer Spring 14 Collection

The Marks & Spencer Spring  2014 collection looks amazing! Modern, sophisticated & vibrant.

Think sleek styling, minimal design, clean lines and soft construction. Whites, nudes and champagne metallic’s, abstract prints in bold colours and feminine textiles, leather in sumptuous new shades, lace and pastel tones.

I mean, it is really hard not to fall in love with all of the new pieces! Here are the 3 main collections highlights:

M&S Spring 2014 collection (2)

WORLDWIDE

Worldwide is a celebration of the contemporary adventuress. Proportions are toyed with as abstract prints and bohemian layering fuse together in a graphic explosion of sleek femininity.

M&S Spring 2014 collection (5)

PRETTY THINGS

A rendezvous with romance sees textured florals, razor pleats and outerwear in sugary shades collide. Sheer layering, cut work lace and a shine of metallic define this eclectic fabrication and embody the contemporary lady-like aesthetic.

M&S Spring 2014 collection (6)

PAINT BOX

A contemporary exploration of the colour palette unites punchy primaries with the simple silhouette in an explosion of tonal diversity. Colourful leathers offset with luxe neutrals and contrasting texture epitomise the Paint Box visual.

The Week #17

#InstaCrushes: The Week #17

Hey you guys! Hope you’ve all enjoyed the weekend! I managed to get some well needed and deserved rest as well as writing up a few blog posts!

Last week was a good’un! A couple of events, a couple of new skincare products to try out and a new nail shade! A good’un indeed!

1. As some of you may have seen on my Instagram feed, I attended the SS14 Splash Fashion Show and it was DOPE! What’s best it that I actually got a VIP pass and literally sat front-row!! Even managed to drag Mr M along and he too had a good time!

2. I popped into my local Body Shop the other in search for something to try (yeah I do that sometimes!). I picked two of their products marked ‘Cult Products’ or ‘Blogger Choice’ include the Vitamin C Skin Booster said to give you that radiant glow and works as a primer and the Tea Tree Oil which is meant to be amazing at clearing breakouts.. Will let you know how I get on with those…

3. On a recent trip to Boots, I picked up this super cute springy blue shade (842 too cool to tango) from Rimmel London  AND this new instant nail enamel oil dryer from Bourjois Paris. I tried both and it actually did the trick although the oil can get a bit messy and so would keep this for evening application when I don’t have to use my hands!

4. Finally, I was invited to check out River Island‘s new store and new collection at The Dubai Mall where I met Marketing Manager Pamela and her team! Loved the new stuff and will for sure be back for a little fashion haul!

This week has a few cool things in store including a video tag, product reviews and much more so be sure to check back in over the next few days!

#BeautyCrush: The ‘one-night stand’ Skincare Kit

Whenever I travel for work, it usually involves spending a night or so in a hotel so that I can be sure to look refreshed when hosting morning events/workshops – sadly I am not one of these people that can just wake up at 5am to catch the 1st flight out to Doha and then get on with their business as soon as they touch down!

I need my sleep, I need to wake up properly, take my time getting ready and only then can I function normally!

You’ll all remember I recently went over to Jeddah for a couple of days and had blogged about my ‘one-night stand’ make-up kit  – see the blog post here!

Skincare wise however, I wanted to give you a glimpse of what goes inside my ‘one-night stand’ essentials kit!

Make-up remover: I’m actually skipping make-up remover  here in favour of one of my favourite products ever, Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse Oil. I got this little sample-size one when I purchased something from their store in the Dubai Mall and it is just perfect to take away when travelling. The oil breakdowns any make-up (however heavy!) and preps your skin for the next step(s).

Cleanser: I kept this genius little one from Bliss which I got with my January GlamBox and it is just perfect for travelling! It also helps that the Faboulous Foaming Face Wash is indeed a great cleanser which refreshes and exfoliates the skin in one go!

Toner: Something I always carry in my bag is a little spray bottle of Caudalie Beauty Elixir (here) which I love to spray on for a quick ‘pick-me’ up. I would also use it as a toner as it is a great hydrating and beautifying mist.

Moisturiser: Back to the Bliss GlamBox for this one too and Bliss’ moisturiser which is great at hydrating the skin but isn’t too heavy etc… perfect for when out & about!

IMG_0206 Body wash: I absolutely adore all of the Bath & Body Works (here) shower gels and body lotions! What I love even more is a good 3 for 2 promotion which seem to be running inside the stores on a regular basis. Last time I managed to stock up on these cute little tubs which are perfect for travelling and picked different scents to try out… my favourite so far is Paris

Body moisturiser: I will be bringing which ever one matches my shower gel. These also come in a very handy plastic tub.

Deodorant: I never go ANYWHERE without my very loyal deodorant which I’ve used for the past 8 years! The Sure Maximum Protection (here) I can only find it in the UK and usually have a stock for 4-5 bottles in advance just in case.

IMG_0204

Shampoo & Conditioner: I went into my local Boots the other day and spotted their ‘travel’ section…. a quick browse through and I selected the Umberto Giannini Dazzling Shine shampoo & conditioner combo (here). I have used Umberto Giannini products and the past and remember liking them very much so thought I’d give this range a try… will report back 😉

Styling product: From the Boots travel section again, I picked up the mini version of the Mark Hill Get Gorgeous Fabulous Finish hair Spray (here) just because the bottle is so cute with it’s pink leopard print pattern!

And the whole lot fits nicely inside my new vanity case from Marks & Spencers (here) which I absolutely adore! It’s super kitsh yet very practical as it has a harder texture, perfect to prevent any squashing or spillage of your products!

What are your travel beauty essentials?!

Tendances PrintempsEte 2014

#FashionCrush (the French Edit): Mes Tendances Printemps/Ete Preferees

Fashion Haul Collage

#FashionCrush: We be hauling!

And another #FashionCrush post! I’m on a (fashion) roll here!! This one however isn’t a ‘Collection Launch’… it is merely a little haul post.

Attending all of these recent collection preview events really made me want to hit the shops! Still, because I am saving hard for my Summer holidays I tried to be really good and only picked up a couple of pieces I really needed!

1st stop was Koton of course! Now I do need to remind you all that about 60% of my wardrobe is from Koton. Like, if they had a loyalty scheme, I’d be a Platinum member! I LOVE Koton. They just get it. Fashionably, trendy, quality clothes are a very very friendly rate! What more do you want?

When I went in, I was specifically looking for a work-friendly outfit and opted for this pair of navy blue pants and this very cute top!

2nd stop, you guessed it, was New Look!

Since I had attended their SS14 Collection preview a couple of days before, I kind of knew what to expect. And I wanted some ‘florals’…. I felt in love with this super cool floral kimono shirt which I will be pairing with jeans and these adorable pumps!

Pumps - AED55 (Bargain!!)

Finally, I went into Marks & Spencers to have a look around. I did spot a few very nice pieces but I needed underwear so went straight to that section. M&S lingerie is just the best. Super good quality, fab styles & designs… they have it all. I got this really lovely nude t-shirt bra which is perfect for wearing with a lighter coloured shirt or T-shirt. A wardrobe essential.

Bra - AED130

Voila! That was my latest lil’ fashion Haul. As we are getting closer to the Summer, expect more of these! For now I shall save my hard earned $$ until at least June/July  when I can treat myself to a nice ‘Summer holidays’ shopping trip! Can’t wait….
