#GlamCrush: We’re ‘In Love’ with Splash 2014 Calendar!

Have you guys seen the new Splash Fashion 2014 Calendar?! Well let me tell you, it isn’t so much a calendar as it is a work of fashion art! Titled ‘In Love with Fashion’, the 2014 Limited Edition Calendar was unveiled by Micky & Renuka Jagtiani, Chairman & Vice-Chairperson, Landmark Group along with Raza Beig, CEO, Splash & ICONIC.

Weaving together the concept of love and drawing inspiration from the multi-faceted heart logo, the calendar brings together the virtues of season-less fabrics, the glamour and beauty of textures and the love for designs. Capturing and interpreting contemporary fashion culture, the calendar is shot through the lens of renowned fashion photographer Tejal Patni and styled by international designer Furne Amato.

All through the 12 images, six key fabrics which have had the longest standing history in the world of fashion emerge namely lace, denim, plaid, leather, florals and monochrome. In-studio designed dramatic sets and lavish props perfectly complement the variety of Amato’s designs prompting you to analyze the broad range of expressions.

And here is a look at the beautifully styled images:

#LingerieCrush: The $10 million bra & the Victoria’s Secret Angel

Yep, you’ve read correctly. $10 million! That is how much the recently launched Victoria’s Secret Royal Fantasy Bra is worth! The glamorous bra and matching belt set are adorned with 4,200 gems handset with rubies, diamonds and blue and yellow sapphires all set in 18 karat gold (which explains the price tag). It was exclusively designed by world renowned jeweler Mouawad

The World's most expensive bra

The unveiling event coincided with Victoria’s Secret Angel Adriana Lima‘s first visit to the Middle East to celebrate the 2013 Holiday Collection launch.

And yours truly got a chance to not only check out the Royal Fantasy Bra but also to photograph the amazingly stunning Brazilian Angel!

Adriana’s Holiday gift picks include the Dream Angels Bra (AED 245), one of the most romantic bras in the Victoria’s Secret collection. Delicate lace gives the super-soft piece a dreamy feel while memory foam on the inside molds to your shape offering the ultimate comfort.

For relaxing nights in, the Dreamer Flanner PJ set (AED 245) is soft and cosy. With three lengths and over 20 colours to choose from, prints such as snowflakes, plaid and polka dots, there’s a style to suit everyone on your Christmas list.

Perfect as a stocking filler, the VS Night fragrance (265 AED) is a bold and seductive scent. Provocative and glamorous with a blend of luscious apple, black plum and velvet woods, VS Night is a must-have fragrance for evenings out during the festive season. (I actually checked this one out and LOVED it! – Mr Mr if you’re reading: YES that’s a hint!)

Have a VS Christmas!

Week #4

#InstaCrushes: The Week #4

Well that’s it, Christmas Fever has finally caught up with me and I am now counting downs to C day and all its festivities (especially looking forward to going out with Mr M for a yummy Christmas Day Brunch!).

This last week was quite an exciting one. Busy at work what with trying to wrap things up before every one jets off on holidays but I managed to squeeze in a bit of Christmas shopping and a fabulous encounter with a gorgeous super model!

Here is the low down on the week that just was:

1. I got around to posting my December #FrenchEdit and went through a LOT of my favourite products! Hope that inspires a few of my friends back home to try some of them out 😉

2. I attended the Victoria’s Secret Royal Fantasy Bra Launch press event at The Dubai Mall and got a chance to photograph the stunning Adriana Lima! The bra set designed by Mouawad, costs a whooping $10 millions…

3. My love for organic cosmetic brand Herbline Essentials never ceases to grow! I tried out their Papaya Fruit & Honey Face Mask and OMG it was just fabulous! Lovely to smooth on, the smell is delicious and it left my skin rejuvenated, my pores tightened and my whole face glowing!

4. My first Christmas present from me to me is of course the new Urban Decay Naked 3 palette every one has been raving on about lately! I simply had to have it! I do own the Naked 2 and love it so was sure to equally love the 3rd edition! The shades are beautiful (lots of pinks which is my favourite colour!), the pigmentation superb… just another stunning palette from Urban Decay. You can find it in Sephora at the Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates for AED225.

5. Now this one is the second Christmas present from me to me! I have wanted to invest in a designer handbag for a very long time and after saving for a few months I finally decided to treat myself. Mr M & I went on the hunt for that perfect handbag and when I saw this  D&G baby my heart stopped! (it stopped again when I looked at the price tag but that’s besides the point!)… I knew I just had to have it…  I got the Miss Sicily Shopper from the new S/S14 Collection. This bag is totally me! Classic yet has an ‘edgy/trendy’ twist! I simply love it!

Whilst I would usually be on my way home to France for the festive holidays, I decided to spend Xmas and New Year here in Dubai this time around and just enjoy the gorgeous weather, chill by the beach, spend some quality time with Mr M.

No doubt I will feel a little home sick on Christmas Day but I will be sure to Skype all of my family & friends!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Until next time…

#MakeUpCrush: Mikyajy galore!

Well this was a super exciting project I’ve been working on for the past couple of weeks and I am so very pleased to be sharing my take on Mikyajy‘s make-up range with you all!

For those of who not quite familiar with the brand, Mikyajy is one of the fastest growing cosmetic brands in the Middle East. Launched in 1999, they have almost 200 stores across Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Libya. Their products are trendy, friendly & young which has made them one of the leading cosmetic brands in the Middle East. Their huge array of quality European products meets all the needs of the local beauty savvy audience. Mikyajy products range from color cosmetics to fragrances and make up tools.

I first came across the brand when guest blogging for Arabia.com during Ramadan. I was looking to feature more of the local brands and ended up working with their team to feature some of their new items.

When Mikyajy contacted me a while ago offering me the opportunity to try their make-up products for myself I jumped at the chance and proceeded to choose 3 items to create a few looks with!

Hours of browsing through their (really funky-looking) website and I selected the following:

Groovy Compacts ‘Jungle Fever’ Palette (AED59 – see here)

Jungle-Fever

This cool multi-stacked compact palette is filled with a range of bright & lively shades for the lips, eyes and cheeks. The pigmentation is pretty good, I particularly like the 2 blushers and eye shadows! When I first looked at the green and coral shades I wasn’t sure how I would use them BUT I swiped these under my eyes for a pop of colour and it just looked fab! I will get a  lot more use out the brown/earthy shadows for sure.

The lip colours are really nice too! The texture of these is super creamy and the pigmentation excellent. All are glossy finish but the colour options are quire versatile which means you can use the palette for any occasions/time of the day!

With a set of mini brushes included, it really does make for the perfect travelling companion.

I would recommend this palette for perhaps the younger crowd as the bright shades are probably best kept for evenings out or parties….

22K Amazing Volume & Define Mascara (AED77 – see here)

22K-Amazing-Volume-&-Define-Mascara

This is definitely my favorite product of the bunch! You can choose between two settings on this innovative mascara, which lets you opt for definition or volume, or combine both as I usually do (I do like a more dramatic eye look!)

The ‘volume’ setting is packed with drama, coating the lashes with mascara from root to tip. The ‘define’ setting is a softer, more natural finish for lighter lashes. Perfect for a daytime look! The long wand is very handy and both brushes are really soft and easy to use.

All in all, a very good budget mascara! And a bonus point for the ‘luxurious’ packaging!

Groovy Compacts ‘Candy Lips’ Palette (AED35 – see here)

Candy-Lips

This  compact contains six lip glosses in shades of pink and coral. It comes with a little brush which makes application on the go super easy. The packaging is really cute & girlie and it just looks so pretty on my desk! It is super sleek and easy to carry around. The colours are great too, some are more shimmery than others so again, a very versatile palette which will take you (and your pout!) from work to drinks with your friends or a date!

I really am impressed with Mikyajy‘s products. The brand is just a super fun, yet affordable one and really just good quality make-up. I would have loved to have know about these when I was younger and on a tighter budget!

I shall be sure to check out their store at The Dubai Mall or Mall of the Emirates and try out more of their stuff!

Have you tried any products from Mikyajy brands? What do you think?
